Fact Sheet: Company-Specific Tariff Relief

While tariff exemptions since the first Trump Administration were mostly implemented on a HTS-code-wide basis, the legal precedent and past practice show President Trump and USTR can grant and has granted company-specific exclusions. Granted exclusions under President Trump often applied to a very specific product (sometimes by part number or model) and sometimes only to the requesting firm or company.
